Hard to get into in the beginning but if you're ready for a Sci-Fi adventure, highly recommended!
Travel with Arthur as he tries to defeat the wicked Mister Monday and save his family from an awful plague.

Ghost Boy

Set in the depression era, this novel follows the journey of a young boy who runs away with the circus.  He suffers from albinoism causing his skin and hair to be white and his eyes are sensitive to light causing partial blindness.  He runs away in hopes of finding a place where he belongs only to find people treat him the same everywhere he goes - as someone who is different.  In the end he learns that to change how others see him, he must first change how he sees himself.  A sad, moving story...I cried.  Highly recommended for both students and parents.

Recommended by student Savannah, Ms. Leach loved the poetry style writing of "Out of the Dust" by Karen Hesse.  More copies are available in the Media Center.
